Experiencing a workplace environment that embraces inclusivity, encourages personal growth, and cultivates a sense of belonging is an invaluable experience that should be accessible to everyone. You deserve to look forward to your next day, knowing that you will be valued as an individual and your opinions will be respected, without facing discrimination for any reason. This is precisely what we strive for at Interactive Contact Center, to create an environment where everyone is welcome and has the same opportunities.
While Pride Month provided a special moment to amplify LGBTQIA+ voices, we believe in celebrating and supporting our diverse community throughout the year. It is paramount that each of our collaborators feels comfortable and enjoys themselves both in the workspace and at work as well as at home. We have a strong commitment to the community that goes beyond one month. This requires that every member of our team is aligned with our values and recognizes the importance of visibility and respect.
Inclusion is about putting people first
Our focus is on putting people first, every collaborator is valuable in his or her way and talent can come from any place. At ICC, we are continuously pioneering innovative strategies to prioritize the well-being of individuals. We go beyond by creating safe spaces for open dialogue and fostering visibility. These spaces become catalysts for innovation and the development of initiatives that drive progress for all.
With a global presence spanning over 17 countries, our mission is to create an empowering and nurturing environment where every person can shine. We are committed to encouraging a safe and receptive environment that allows each person to embrace their unique talents and become the best version of themselves.
Visibility must be internal and external
Maintaining transparency and open channels of communication is vital to fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose among our team members. By promoting internal visibility, we ensure that everyone has access to the information, resources, and opportunities they need to excel.
Visibility may also be achieved through strategic events that are held internally and through external statements that reaffirm our commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community. What is not visible or spoken about does not exist, and we want to give voice and representation to each person who has a valuable contribution to continue our process of continuous improvement.
Best practices to promote inclusion in your work team
We recognize that a large number of people with different backgrounds coexist in our teams and therefore we feel it is important to provide some good practices to maintain a friendly and inclusive environment throughout the year.
1. Acknowledge that we have a zero-discrimination tolerance policy and that we have open channels for dialogue and, if necessary, for reporting any kind of discrimination.
2. Respect for the pronouns that each person wishes to use, to achieve spaces of continuous mutual respect that allow each person to focus on professional development.
3. As a team leader you can create free and respectful environments where everyone feels safe. You can also talk to your leader, keep in mind that your ideas are valuable and will always be heard.
While LGBTQIA+ Pride Month may have ended, our celebration and commitment to diversity continue. At ICC, we embrace inclusivity, respect, and acceptance every day of the year. We proudly join the global movement, standing for equal rights and fostering inclusivity for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. At ICC, every individual is valued, respected, and treated equally.
Join us in creating a workplace where diversity thrives and everyone feels empowered to be their authentic selves. Together, let’s build a world where acceptance knows no boundaries.
